Tis’ the season to be grateful. I give you the gift of being grateful for the rest of your life. This will be the best gift you’ve ever received.
Whatever you’re doing right now, Stop, drop into yourself and take a moment to think about the word gratitude. What does it mean to you? How can you embody gratitude more in your life? Does this mean you give everything you own away? Does this mean you give a little extra tip to someone? The meaning will be different for everyone, but I encourage you to play with this word daily to see the transformation that it can have in your life.
The most difficult time to practice is when you are struggling, so do yourself a favor and practice it in happy moments and then continue practicing in increasingly more difficult times of life. It will eventually get easier and the meaning will shift as you begin to embody the word rather than use it as a mantra.
Here are some things to look forward to when you embrace each moment with gratitude:
Think about the word gratitude, again. What would it look like if you were to embody the word all day today? What would it look like for you to embody it for one whole week? A month? 3 months? 6 months? 1 year?
Every moment is an opportunity to be grateful. Begin to create some wonder about what it would feel like to be grateful. Each day you can be grateful for something different, or you can be grateful for the same thing each day. Let your heart be the guide to what you want to express gratitude towards; whether it is spending time with family or having the courage to break away from an unhealthy habit. Whatever comes to mind, honor it with gratitude.
Now pick a goal and commit to yourself to be more grateful and discover what that word means to you and then share it with me in the comments.
